Getting Around the Block

A new year. A new job. How about a new resolution? A blog post a day. Poets write a poem a day. Song writers write a song a day. I'm no poet or song writer, but I can blog. So a blog a day from now on. Can I do it? Probably. No guarantee that they'll all be great, or even good, but I can write a blog a day. I got the idea on the way home from my new job today. I was listening to an interview with Esperanza Spalding, and she was talking about writing a song every day. Not all of them are good songs, she insisted, but occasionally she created a gem. And since I haven't written much of late, and have been promising myself for over a year now that I was going to start writing again, but being an essentially lazy person who can find excuses to get out of doing just about anything that requires a little more effort than I would like to exert at the moment, promising myself and the world that I would write a blog post a day sounded like a good way to spur myself into action at long last. It won't be easy though. Coming up with stuff to write about is no easy feat. That's what caused my long hiatus. Ran out of things to say. The dreaded writer's block. But I'm ready now to tackle this blog again. So here's number one for the new year.
Oh, and the new job? Senior Technical Writer and Illustrator in the marketing communications department at a major semiconductor manufacturer. Been wanting to get into MarComm for a long time. Now I'm on my way.
